What servicing covers
- General vehicle servicing
- Routine servicing to keep your vehicle running well, including checks of the main systems and replacement of service items as needed. Let the workshop know about anything you have noticed so it can be looked at during the service.
- Logbook servicing
- Servicing to the schedule in your vehicle's logbook. Bring the logbook, or tell the workshop which service is due, so the right items are covered and the service can be recorded.
- Fluid flushes and replacements
- Replacing and flushing vehicle fluids when they are due or contaminated, and cleaning where needed. That includes power steering fluid, which ties in with the workshop's steering work.
- A steering check as part of the visit
- If something in the steering has been bothering you, mention it in your request. It can be assessed while the vehicle is at the workshop.

General & logbook servicing: common questions
Something else? Contact the workshop
Can an independent workshop do my logbook service?
In Australia, a new car warranty generally cannot be voided just because servicing was done by an independent workshop, as long as the service follows the manufacturer's requirements. The ACCC publishes guidance on this. Bring your logbook so the service can be recorded.
What does a service cost?
It depends on your vehicle and which service is due. The workshop will discuss it with you when they contact you about your booking request.
Do you flush power steering fluid?
Yes. Fluid flushes and replacements are part of the servicing work, including power steering fluid where the system uses it.
